Forklift Trucks

Compare FORKLIFT TRUCKS. Forklift trucks come as internal combustion (IC) forklift trucks or electric forklift trucks. The IC forklift truck can be diesel, gasoline or LPG. The electric forklift is preferred in closed spaces. The electric forklift requires a battery charger and if the truck is in frequent use, spare batteries. Narrow aisle forklifts and order pickers are electric trucks.

Another option to consider is the type of tires, either cushion or pneumatic. Cushion tires are good for level floors inside of buildings. Pneumatic tires are larger, give the truck more ground clearance and are better for any uneven ground. Turning radius and column height are important factors when choosing a forklift truck

Fuel cells are a serious contender to power forklift truck in the near future. They are currently available for hand power trucks. Narrow aisle and order pickers are electric trucks for special applications

 

 

Compare WALKIE PALLET TRUCKS. A walkie pallet truck is a powered hand truck. A powered pallet truck  requires less training than a forklift truck but can truck heavy loads by hand.

Because of the walk behind characteristic the trucks earned the nickname Walkies

The rider pallet truck comes in two styles, stand on the end, or stand between the load and the steering post. There is no significant advantage of one over the other.

The walkie stacker also comes in two styles. The counterweight model and the more popular straddle model.

Some manufacturers now offer fuel cells instead of batteries for these models. The lower weight of the fuel cell makes it easier to maneuver the walkie.
