Compare LABORATORY OVENS. Laboratory benchtop ovens, atmosphere oven or vacuum ovens are designed for the laboratory environment. The lab oven temperatures range from 150 to 650 F. The oven capacity is less than 30 cu feet and the external finish is easy to clean to fit into the laboratory environment. The internal lining is stainless steel. Temperature control can be simple preset on/off or PID.

Benchtop Ovens

The most common benchtop ovens are natural convection ovens. Here the hot air rises and some escapes. The bench top ovens have a temperature variation throughout. To minimize this variation, some ovens have a circulating fan which moves the air vertically or horizontally through the oven. This gives more consistent temperature in the oven. Also, PID controller will improve the temperature uniformity and consistency.

Inert Atmosphere Ovens

Inert atmosphere ovens are designed with air tight door seals and fitting for inert gas to enter the oven. The inert atmosphere is designed for oxygen sensitive material and special atmosphere treatment. The most common gas is nitrogen.

Laboratory Vacuum Ovens

LABORATORY VACUUM OVENS are used for special treatment of sensitive material. Laboratory vacuum ovens have special door seals and wall structure to hold a vacuum. Special fittings connect to a vacuum pump to draw down the air in the oven
