Forklift trucks come with two types of drive, internal combustion or electric. The combustion type can be diesel, gasoline, or a combination of these. The choice depending on the location of use and load capacity. The electric drive is preferred in closed spaces. The combustion type requires storage of the fuel on site. The electric truck, requires a battery charging system and if the truck is in frequent use, spare batteries.
Another option to consider is the type of tires, either cushion or pneumatic. Cushion tires are good for level floors inside of buildings. Pneumatic tires are larger, give the truck more ground clearance and are better for any uneven ground
Narrow aisle and order pickers are electric trucks for special applications.
