The stacker comes in three standard configurations for material handling:
1. The straddle stacker has legs with casters parallel to the forks which prevent the truck from tipping forward. These require clearance on each side of the forks to enter a shelf space.
2. The reach stacker has the straddle configuration, plus ability to move the load forward unto a shelf.
3. The counterbalanced stacker has a larger drive enclosure which houses the counterbalance. These trucks do not require the straddle legs.
