Vacuum lab ovens are electrically heated ovens with a door and frame structure to be able to hold a vacuum on the inside. This allows parts to de-gased or withstand high temperature without surface oxidizing.
The ovens have a tube and fitting to allow a vacuum pump to draw down the atmospheric pressure inside the oven. Low vacuum ovens operate from 760 Torr (atmospheric pressure) to one 1 Torr. Medium vacuum goes from 1 Torr to about 0.01 Torr. Standard catalog ovens do not operate much below 0.01 Torr. Anything below this level requires custom fabrication.
