Manual and semi-automatic labeling applicators for small volume use are available. They are mostly intended for round containers.

In the semi-automatic units, the container is placed on a cradle. Then upon pushing a button, the cradle rises and the label is applied as the container is slowly rotated. The cycle is repeated after the product is removed. To keep the hands free, a foot switch may be used.

The most common label adhesive is pressure sensitive even though some cold melt and hot melt is still used.
