Semi-Automatic Labeling Machine

Compare SEMI-AUTOMATIC LABELING MACHINES. Semi automatic labeling machines are for small labeling requirements. Semi automatic label applicators are mostly intended to apply labels to round containers.

In the semi-automatic labeling units, the container is placed on a cradle. Then upon pushing a button, the cradle rises and the label is applied as the container is slowly rotated. The cycle is repeated after the product is removed. To keep the hands free, a foot switch may be used.

The most common label adhesive is pressure sensitive even though some cold melt and hot melt is still used. Pressure sensitive labels are printed in large quantities on rolls from which it is easy to transfer them to a container.

Glue applicators are primarily for labels that wrap all around a container. Glue is added to the leading and trailing edges of the label. Hot melt glue is by far the most common use and the primary reason is the fast setup time. The labels are individually cut and placed in a stack in the machine.

Manual applicators are not very common, but are available. Any glue type label can be applied with this applicator
