Compare POWER HAND TRUCKS or WALKIE PALLET TRUCKS. A walkie pallet truck is a powered hand truck. A powered pallet truck requires less training than a forklift truck but can truck heavy loads by hand.

Because of the walk behind characteristic the trucks earned the nickname Walkies

The rider pallet truck comes in two styles, stand on the end, or stand between the load and the steering post. There is no significant advantage of one over the other.

The walkie stacker also comes in two styles. The counterweight model and the more popular straddle model.

Some manufacturers now offer fuel cells instead of batteries for these models. The lower weight of the fuel cell makes it easier to maneuver the walkie.
