A cyclone dust collector is for large volume dust collecting, Cyclone dust collector removal efficiency is over 90% for 15 micron and larger dust particles. As such, the cyclone dust collector is often the first step, coarse removal, in a dust removal system requiring high quality air at the final output for a large volume of dirty air.

An industrial dust collector is for removing dust particles from air generated in industrial processes. Industrial dust collectors use fiber woven bags, cartridges, pleated filters or water trapping to remove particulates from the process air. The removal efficiency is over 95 % to below 4 micron particle size. They may be the next step after a cyclone dust collector.

For low air volume requirements, portable dust collectors come in two styles, source point portable dust collector and standard portable dust collector. The standard dust collector has one or two air inlets for hose connections. The source point dust collector has one air intake for the source.

For removing mist and oil vapors from air there are 3 or 4 stage filter mist collectors electrostatic mist collector or centrifugal force mist collectors. Electrostatic mist

collector and centrifugal mist collectors are used primarily for low air volume (less than 1000 cfm) applications.

With single point use, downdraft tables are equipped with blowers to draw the air down through the table surface. The downdraft table air then flows through a filter to trap particles down to 1 to 5 micron size range. In addition to preventing particles from getting into the surrounding atmosphere, the tables are used to draw fumes away from operators.

For other special applications, booths come with after filters which remove 99.7% of particles to 0.5 micron size. All units remove at least 95% of particles to 1 micron size. These units are not intended for painting applications, but to remove particles and vapors from the air.
